How to get your Tripletex API key

By integrating Tripletex into your application, you can automate a variety of processes and create a more efficient experience for your customers. Getting started requires generating an employee token (API key) in your Tripletex account. This step-by-step guide will show you how.

Step 1: Log In

Navigate to your Tripletex environment and log in with your credentials.

Step 2: Access Your User Menu

Click on your user profile in the top right corner of the screen to open the user menu.

Step 3: Open Your Profile

Select "My profile" from the dropdown menu to access your user settings.

Step 4: Navigate to API Access

Click on "More" to expand additional options, then select "API access" from the menu.

Step 5: Create a New Token

Click on the "New token" button to begin generating your API credentials.

Step 6: Configure Token Permissions

Select "Adapted setup" and choose "all entitlements" to ensure your integration has the necessary permissions to function properly.

Step 7: Enter the Application Name

In the "Application name" field, enter the exact Application Name required by the software you're connecting to Tripletex. This name is typically provided by your integration software, make sure to copy it exactly as shown to ensure the connection works properly.

Step 8: Name Your Token

Give your token a descriptive name, such as "Software Provider API" or the name of the application you're connecting. This helps you identify the token's purpose if you need to manage multiple integrations.

Step 9: Save Your Employee Token

Once generated, save the employeeToken securely. You'll need to enter this token in your software's activation page to complete the connection. Treat this token like a password: store it in a secure location and never share it publicly.
