Chift raises €10.5M in a Series A round led by BlackFin Capital Partners

Chift raises a €10.5M Series A to solve Europe's financial connectivity problem. One connectivity layer: 120+ financial tools for software products and AI agents.

We are excited to announce that Chift has raised a €10.5M Series A to solve Europe's financial connectivity problem.

The round is led by BlackFin Capital Partners, the European fintech specialist, with our existing investors Entourage, Shapers, Seeder Fund and Wallonie Entreprendre all doubling down.

We are grateful to our investors for their conviction in Chift, to the Chifters who build this every single day, and to our customers, without whom none of this would be possible.

Every business tool needs financial data. In Europe, that data sits in a different system in every country. So software companies cannot scale across borders, AI agents cannot act on a business's finances, and an SMB never sees its full picture. We believe interoperability is becoming the defining problem of European SMB finance.

Interoperability is the defining problem of European SMB finance

Every SMB runs on software. Not one tool: dozens. Over the last twenty years, digitisation gave every business a specialised tool for every job, and AI now makes those tools faster and cheaper to build than ever. It created an enormous amount of value. It also created an enormous amount of fragmentation, and it keeps growing.

In Europe, that fragmentation runs twice as deep. Tools are not only many, they are local. The accounting software that dominates in France is unknown in Germany. The point of sale a London restaurant runs on does not exist in Spain. Every country has its own champions, its own standards, its own way of keeping the books. Europe is not one market. It is a scattered landscape of national ecosystems that were never designed to talk to each other.

The result: financial data stuck in silos, and software companies forced to rebuild the same integrations country after country.

We lived this problem ourselves. Before founding Chift, the three of us spent years helping SMBs get their tools to work together, one integration at a time. It worked, but one integration at a time will never connect a continent.

So we started Chift, with a conviction that has not moved since: we believe in connecting software to elevate its value and foster partnerships. A connected tool is simply a better product. Europe is disconnected. We exist to fix that.

The opportunity of the decade

Two forces are converging, and they are converging now.

E-invoicing is digitising every business in Europe. Mandates are rolling out across the continent, and by 2030 every SMB will have to run its invoices, and therefore its finances, on software. Tens of millions of businesses that never managed their finances digitally are coming online at the same time. For the first time, all of them become eligible for automation.

AI is turning software into agents. Agents are arriving in finance and accounting, and they are only as good as the data they can reach. Without connectivity to the tools a business already runs, an agent is blind. Every AI product in finance needs a connectivity layer to exist.

Together, they are disrupting accounting itself. A profession that ran on manual entry is being rebuilt from the inside: integrations remove the typing, AI takes on the work that sits above it.

30 million SMBs across Europe and the UK. A €174 billion accounting services market that is still largely manual. And finance moving inside every piece of software, as B2B SaaS embeds payments, banking and credit. Every one of those businesses will need its finances connected. Integration used to be the plumbing nobody talked about. It is becoming critical infrastructure.

The AI layer for financial connectivity

Europe is the hardest place in the world to build this. That is exactly why it is the best place to build it.

From day one, we have done one thing only: accounting and financial data. That focus took us further than connectors: a platform that understands the accounting behind every connection, not just the plumbing. It also took years of earning access to systems no one else could open, one partnership at a time. That access is not something capital can buy back.

Accounting is where financial context lives: years of rules, validations and local regulation that no AI layer built from scratch can recreate. It is no longer just the system of record. It is becoming the engine of intelligence, and every AI product in finance will have to go through it.

Many believe AI makes integrations trivial and connectors worthless. We believe the opposite. Writing a connector was never the hard part. Knowing what the data means, keeping it right for years, and being trusted to act on it is. AI moves the value of an integration from the pipe to the intelligence inside it. Four years inside accounting data is exactly what it takes to build that intelligence.

One integration to Chift connects a software company to more than 120 financial systems across Europe, and that catalogue expands every week. Connecting Europe is not just a technical problem to solve: for the companies building on Chift, every integration opens a new go to market, a direct line into a new country's ecosystem, new partnership opportunities, without rebuilding anything to get there.

Today, more than 150 software companies build on Chift to connect over 50,000 businesses across 13 countries, including Europe's leading tech companies: Sage, Revolut, Qonto, Pennylane and Mollie. We are the clear leader in our first markets, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. We launched Spain a year ago, and we are already growing in the UK, the Nordics and Germany.

Now we are building the next Chift.

Connecting software was the first chapter. Making those connections think for themselves is the next one, and it is what this round will fund. Integrations that do not just move financial data, but understand it, set themselves up, and act on it.

We sit at the centre of the interoperability problem, building the financial connectivity layer for the AI era: the agentic infrastructure for finance and accounting in Europe.

Where we go from here

We raised to move faster, at European scale. Over the next few years, we will:

  • scale across Spain, the UK, the Nordics, Germany and Italy, and lead every major market in Europe and the UK
  • build the agentic layer, so that any connection sets itself up in minutes and any agent can act on financial data safely
  • reach every SMB in Europe, through the software they use, the accountants they trust and the partners they work with
  • build a stellar team of cheerful experts you can trust, across Europe

Our vision:

  • every business in Europe and the UK has its finances connected, whatever tools it uses and whatever country it is in
  • connections no longer need to be built or configured: Chift's agents make them happen, and humans only step in for what matters
  • Chift is the layer that software, accountants and AI agents go through to act on financial data

Software will keep changing. New tools and frameworks will appear, agents will take over tasks we cannot imagine yet. But the need to connect them will only grow.

We are excited about a future where every business in Europe runs on connected, intelligent finance, and where the people building that future, the software companies, the accountants, the agents, can rely on us to make it work. This Series A is a step toward that future.

We are hiring for 15 roles across Europe in H2 2026. If you want to build the infrastructure European finance will run on, join us.

Together, let’s take the integration fast lane.
